During the 2020 Arizona Legislative Session, the Governor signed Senate Bill 1061 establishing A.R.S. § 15-249.16, which requires the Arizona Department of Education to develop and post statutory handbooks of parental rights. In the 2022 Arizona Legislative Session, the Legislature passed several bills that amended one or more of the sections required to be included in the statutory handbook of parental rights. The Arizona Department of Education has revised the handbooks to accurately reflect the current versions of the statute.

The Arizona Parental Rights Handbook and Resources is available in English and Spanish. Additional information can be found on the department of education website.
