Four students at C.O. Greenfield reach the 95th percentile in growth on both their reading and math assessments in September! Congratulations to our Cougars!

It has been an exciting first nine weeks of school, and everyone has been working hard. It's time to take a break to recharge. The school and office will be closed the week of October 7 - 11. We will return on October 14, and we look forward to seeing you then.

Tomorrow Oct. 4th the uniform bus will be here for the 50 students that turned in a permission slip. Your child will need to be here to get the uniform bag. They will receive 2 bottoms, 3 shirts, socks, shoes and a book. If there is anything in the bag they do not want, please donate back to the family center. I would like to thank everyone that submitted art work to celebrate Peace! All students that submitted art will be acknowledged as Peace Advocates on stage at Mesa Community College Performing Arts Center. 1520 S. Longmore Mesa, AZ. Located on the southeast side of campus just south of Southern Ave. on Longmore. Refreshments will be served in the Courtyard after the ceremony. Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Loving Library has donated a variety of books in Spanish and English for families to take home and read. Feel free to take books home and bring them back when you are finished. The book cover will either read Kennedy Family Center or have a Loving Library sticker on the front cover so the students will know to where to return them. Please see 2 pictures! Next week, September 30 - October 4, is spirit week. Students can dress up based on the day's theme, or they can wear their uniform. Spirit days are: Monday - pajama day Tuesday - sports day Wednesday - fall colors day Thursday - twin day Friday - senior citizen day All clothing should meet the free dress day guidelines posted in the student handbook.

Similar messages and social media posts have recently been reported in districts across the country. We are aware of a few of our students who reported receiving messages. We are in communication with Phoenix Police regarding this matter and they indicated that there is no imminent threat towards any of our schools. We encourage parents and guardians to have open conversations with their children about the severity of making or sharing threats.
