Athletics
Roosevelt School District strongly believes in the value of athletics participation. One of the most valuable outcomes is the mental, physical, and social development of the students who represent Roosevelt School District through athletics.
Athletic Programs
Roosevelt School District offers after-school sports programs for both boys and girls in sixth through eighth grades. Participation in athletic programs is a privilege. It is crucial to have good representatives who are leaders both on campus and in the community. To participate in sports, students must be making progress in all classes. Roosevelt School District complies with state statutes regarding No Pass, No Play. Students and parents should refer to the athletic handbook for further policies and regulations.
Off-Campus Games
Often, teams travel to another school or location for games and tournaments. Student-athletes are the responsibility of their coach and school administration. They must remain with their team and follow their coach's or school administration's directions.
Students not officially part of the team may only attend games with a parent or guardian at other sites. They cannot ride the bus to and/or from the game with the team. The Roosevelt School District does not supervise students attending other campus games or events.
Students who arrive at games or events not at their home school will be asked to leave.
Parent and Visitor Conduct at Athletic Events
The Roosevelt School District values family involvement in athletics and other student activities. To ensure that these experiences are safe and positive for all students, all parents, guardians, and visitors are expected to demonstrate appropriate conduct while on campus. This includes using appropriate language, avoiding confrontations with others, refraining from engaging with the referees and following the administrator's directions on duty. Inappropriate conduct may result in immediate removal from the gymnasium, field, or event location and/or restrictions on attendance at future games or events.
