Professional Development

Governing Board members are encouraged to attend workshops presented by the county, state, and national school board associations. Professional journals and books in the school libraries shall be available to every Board member.

No public funds can be used for training, orientation or therapy that involves any form of blame or judgment based on race, ethnicity, or sex, including sexual harassment training. The statute defines “blame or judgment on the basis of race, ethnicity, or sex” as seven (7) concepts.

The Governing Board prioritizes professional development to enhance governance skills, including policymaking, fiscal oversight, and effective representation of diverse communities to improve student outcomes.
